Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Transformation and Firsts for UpMetrics
Happy Holidays from the UpMetrics crew! As we close the year, we wanted to express how grateful we are that you’re part of our growing community of social impact innovators, champions, and doers.
We’ve truly had an exciting year, marked with major transformations and historic ‘firsts’ for UpMetrics. Here are just a few highlights:
▪️ We launched UpMetrics 3.0, which included an overhauled Impact Measurement & Management Suite and completely new Impact Framework Builder.
Offering innovative new features such as in-app process guidance and large-scale visual design updates to improve navigation and overall modernization, the new UpMetrics platform contains powerful functionality that empowers organizations to Define, Collect, Analyze, and Leverage impact data to drive learning and insights that can be used to drive greater outcomes. As part of this platform rollout, UpMetrics provides free access to the Impact Framework Builder functionality as part of a Starter package offering.

▪️ We forged strategic partnerships with leaders in various corners of the impact space:
- Temelio - to unite the grantmaking and impact assessment processes into a seamless, end-to-end solution for grantmakers.
- Ballmer Group - to spearhead a new community impact cohort for nonprofit grantees in Southeast Michigan.
- National Bankers Association Foundation - to empower minority-owned banks to more easily and effectively leverage their data and create better outcomes for their communities.
▪️ We celebrated the 5th anniversary of our Chicago cohort, marking a milestone for our funders who have supported 70+ grantees over the years.
The Chicago Cohort (UpMetrics' first ever cohort) is spearheaded by three Chicagoland foundations - the Foglia Family Foundation, IMC Chicago Charitable Foundation, and Christopher Family Foundation – and was launched to sponsor and support nonprofit grantees through the process of leveraging UpMetrics technology to collect, analyze, and report on data that measures the impact of their social programs.
▪️ We saw the growth of our Bay Area cohort firsthand, hosting two in-person workshops in San Francisco for both funders and grantees.
The Bay Area Cohort was created to support six nonprofit organizations with programs primarily serving Bay Area community residents.
▪️ We hosted multiple Impact Learning Collective sessions, bringing together UpMetrics clients from across the nation that are dedicated to making a positive impact within similar impact focus areas.
Our ILCs were designed to provide the opportunity for clients to connect and share ideas, collaborate on effective solutions, and discuss "best in class" approaches to driving impact and measuring progress towards change.
▪️ We had our much-awaited all-staff retreat at a brand new location: Austin, Texas!
The UpMetrics team took a few days off to see what Austin and its surrounding countryside have to offer, and used the opportunity to connect, reflect, and align together on our mission to bring capital to impact through impact measurement.
▪️ We held our very first Social Impact Showcase, celebrating the incredible work of our nonprofit clients.
Our first-ever Social Impact Showcase aimed to elevate and celebrate social impact organizations across the UpMetrics customer community. Six shortlisted nonprofits had the chance to showcase their work to our panel of judges at our December 12th Showcase event, and Real Options for City Kids (R.O.C.K) was named the winner, receiving a $50,000 grant towards their mission! ▪️ We set the foundation for upcoming platform features we’ve been excited about: Impact Portfolio Reporting (IPR) and funder-grantee matching!
Designed to simplify time-consuming reporting processes by exchanging data in a collaborative two-sided portal, funders and grantees will soon be able to boost collaboration and communication.
Additionally, clients will be able to take the hassle out of finding and connecting with mission-aligned partners & funders through our matching system.
